When architecture and florals collide in the most spectacular way, magic happens. This spring celebration at San Francisco’s iconic venue was proof—a bright and bold wedding at the Asian Art Museum where romance took center stage in the breathtaking Samsung Hall.
DREAMS IN BLOOM
Every memorable wedding at the Asian Art Museum begins with a vision, and this one arrived through a talented planner with a stunning design deck in hand. They were searching for a floral partner who could bring an ambitious concept to life: a celebration dripping in luxury blooms that represented the entire spectrum of passion.
We wanted colors that told a story—from the deepest burgundy that whispered of old libraries and secret letters, to bright fuchsia that shouted from rooftops, to the softest blush that sighed like a first kiss. This Asian Art Museum wedding would be anything but safe.
But the vision came with an exciting challenge: this would be a flip wedding. The ceremony and reception would both take place in Samsung Hall, with just sixty minutes to completely transform the space during cocktail hour. One magnificent room, two entirely different moods, and flowers that needed to anchor both experiences seamlessly.
The opportunity thrilled us. For a wedding at the Asian Art Museum to succeed as a flip format, we needed floral elements that could serve double duty—stunning during the intimate ceremony, absolutely show-stopping for the lavish reception that followed.
THE VENUE: A CANVAS OF ARCHITECTURAL GRANDEUR
The Asian Art Museum itself became a character in this love story. Samsung Hall offered everything a couple could dream of: soaring ceilings that seemed to reach toward heaven, stately marble columns standing as silent witnesses to the celebration, and warm beige walls that provided the perfect neutral canvas for our bold floral artistry.
This neoclassical San Francisco venue has hosted countless weddings, but each one brings its own personality. Our job was to let the architecture shine while creating floral moments that would take guests’ breath away.

REACHING TOWARD FOREVER: THE VERTICAL INSTALLATIONS
The centerpiece—both literally and figuratively—of this Asian Art Museum wedding was a series of six towering floral panels. Each installation stood over ten feet tall, creating a dramatic living wall of flowers behind where the couple would exchange vows and later enjoy their reception dinner.
Building these vertical gardens was a labor of love, constructed layer by layer, bloom by bloom. We started with the deepest burgundy tones at the base—rich, grounding, passionate. The middle sections transitioned through bold reds and vibrant fuchsias—the heart-racing, hand-holding energy of love in full bloom. At the peaks, soft blush and coral tones reached skyward—representing hope, dreams, and the future stretching ahead.
Colors flowed into each other without hard lines, creating that coveted sunset gradient effect. When we added soft pink uplighting, the panels seemed to glow from within, as if the flowers themselves were luminous with joy. These installations would serve as the ceremony backdrop and the reception focal point—exactly what a flip wedding at the Asian Art Museum requires.
THE CEREMONY: INTIMATE ELEGANT WEDDING AT THE ASIAN ART MUSEUM
For the ceremony itself, we wanted the Asian Art Museum’s Samsung Hall to feel open and focused on what mattered most: the couple. Simple rows of elegant gold Chiavari chairs created clean lines. The towering floral backdrop commanded attention as the focal point, while the staircase arrangements remained visible through the doorway, promising beauty at every turn.
We added one special touch along the aisle: clusters of loose florals in our signature burgundy-to-blush gradient, creating a romantic path to the altar. Each step the couple took was a journey through the color story we’d so carefully crafted for their Asian Art Museum wedding.

SIXTY MINUTES OF TRANSFORMATION
As soon as the ceremony concluded and guests headed to cocktails, the real magic began. This is where flip weddings at the Asian Art Museum get exciting—and slightly terrifying.
Our incredible team had just sixty minutes to transform Samsung Hall from a ceremony space to a full reception. Tables needed to be brought in and positioned. Linens dressed. Hundreds of floral arrangements were placed. Countless candles were distributed and lit. Every detail was executed flawlessly so that when guests returned, they’d step into what felt like an entirely different celebration.
The beauty of working at a venue like the Asian Art Museum? The architecture does half the work. Our job was to layer in warmth, color, and those intimate floral moments that make a wedding truly unforgettable.
INTIMATE GARDENS ON EVERY TABLE
While the vertical installations provided architectural drama throughout the Asian Art Museum reception, the tabletop florals needed to create intimacy and encourage conversation.
We designed low, elegant centerpieces for each table—clusters of 3-5 glass vessels in varying heights, filled with garden-style arrangements that looked freshly gathered from a secret garden at golden hour. Burgundy garden roses opened fully, generous with their beauty. Coral and fuchsia ranunculus added pops of vibrant color. Deep dahlias provided dramatic weight. Trailing greenery softened edges and created organic movement.
The genius of this approach? No two arrangements were identical. Each shared the same ingredients and color story but had its own distinct personality—just like the guests themselves, all part of the same Asian Art Museum wedding celebration, each bringing their own story to the table.
Because we’d designed these as loose, romantically wild arrangements, they looked intentionally imperfect. Like they’d grown there specifically for this moment, not constructed in a studio hours before.
CANDLELIGHT: THE SECRET INGREDIENT
Here’s a florist’s secret that makes weddings at the Asian Art Museum truly transcendent: flowers are stunning, but flowers with candlelight are pure magic.
We placed hundreds—genuinely hundreds—of votive candles and pillars throughout Samsung Hall. They clustered on tables between floral arrangements, lined the bar, scattered across the head table, and nestled into every available surface.

As the evening progressed and natural light faded, the space transformed yet again. Candlelight caught on glass vases, reflected off gold chair frames, and created halos around each bloom. The burgundy roses seemed to deepen. The fuchsia ranunculus appeared to glow. The entire Asian Art Museum reception took on an ethereal, romantic quality that photographs simply can’t fully capture. THE REVEAL: GASPS AND TEARS
The moment the couple returned from cocktails to see the transformed Samsung Hall will stay with me forever. The gasps were immediate, audible, and genuine.
“Wait—is this the same room?”
Yes, but it had been completely reimagined. Where ceremony seating had been, elegant reception tables now glowed with florals and candlelight. The floral backdrop that had witnessed their vows now anchored their celebration dinner. The staircase arrangements framed their entrance into this new chapter as a married couple.

Throughout the evening at the Asian Art Museum, we watched the flowers do what flowers do best: create atmosphere, spark conversation, provide beauty in quiet moments, and make a grand space feel warm and intimate. They softened the marble, complemented the architecture, and told the couple’s love story in the language of petals and color. Wedding reception at the Asian Art Museum
A SYMPHONY IN BURGUNDY
This wasn’t just another wedding at the Asian Art Museum. It was a symphony in burgundy, a love letter written in petals, a testament to what happens when couples are brave enough to choose bold beauty and trust their floral team to deliver something extraordinary.
From the dramatic staircase entrance to the towering vertical installations, from the intimate table gardens to the sea of glowing candles, every element worked in harmony. The Wedding Asian Art Museum in a flip format added intensity and excitement, but the result was seamless—guests had no idea we’d transformed the entire room in just sixty minutes.
Samsung Hall at the Asian Art Museum provided the perfect backdrop: architectural grandeur that deserved equally grand florals. The venue’s neoclassical elegance, soaring ceilings, and marble columns created a canvas that begged for bold, romantic gestures. And that’s exactly what we delivered.
